Iomic Grips: The best grips are the ones you haven't heard of...
What kind of golfer gets excited about new grips? Golfers like me, that’s who. For the most part, grips have gotten better over the last few years yet one key weakness remains: Grips wear out, and worse, the best grips wear out quickly. If the Iomic name isn’t well known to you yet, don’t feel bad. Until the 2006 PGA Fall Expo, I hadn’t heard of them either.
At least one noteworthy player has heard of them and uses their grips in a very interesting color for a golf grip: Pink. The player is 19 year old LPGA phenom Paula Creamer whose Pink Panther nickname fits right in with Iomic’s kaleidoscopic range of color options. In addition to Pink, they make grips in red, yellow and a variety of blues.
What color did I select for my sample? Black, of course. Actually, my primary interest in IOmic comes from their claim that their grips last much longer that conventional grips. Even more compelling than their durability was their very smooth yet tacky feel.
The Iomics are simply the best feeling grips that I’ve come across.
